Fletcher spent the past two years as the assistant strength coach at the University of Michigan, working primarily with men’s basketball. Michigan compiled a 45-24 record during his two years in Ann Arbor and the Wolverines were Big 10 Conference regular season champions in 2011.
“This is a huge addition for us as Adam comes highly recommended from Coach Beilein at Michigan,” said Towson second-year head coach Pat Skerry. “I think he’s a rising star and this position is a crucial piece for us. Our veterans and all the new guys will work hard on improving their bodies and Adam will help them realize what it takes to reach their apex. He’ll get six to eight hours a week with our guys in the summer so I expect him to make an immediate impact on our program.”
Fletcher joined the Michigan staff after interning with the women's soccer, field hockey, volleyball and men's basketball team at Miami University. He also worked at the prestigious IMG Basketball Academy in 2009, assisting players in skill development.
Fletcher graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in exercise physiology. At Miami, Fletcher played basketball as a three-year starter and was named team captain in his senior campaign. He guided his team to the Mid-American Conference Championship in 2007 and he was named Miami’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2010.
A native of St. Albans, W.Va., Fletcher obtained his master's degree in exercise science (strength and conditioning) at Edith Cowan University in Australia.
