TOWSON, Md. - On Sunday, Sept. 9th Towson University hosted the 6th Baltimore Great Prostate Cancer Challenge. Student-athletes and members of the coaching staffs from the men’s lacrosse, men’s basketball and cheerleading squads along with “Doc” attended the event and volunteered to help out.
The event had more than 850 registrants and raised over $300,000!
The Great Prostate Cancer Challenge consisted of a 5K run and a 1 mile fun walk. After the event, there was entertainment in the stadium as Edgar and Poe entertained participants and their families with the Oriole Bird. There were bands, former Ravens and Colts and raffle items won.

Funds raised went to provide free prostate cancer screening and prostate cancer research. The beneficiaries of the event are the American Urological Association and ZERO, The End Of Prostate Cancer.
