The show, now in its second season, will debut this year on Monday, Nov. 5 at 9 p.m. with replays being shown on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
“Earning Their Stripes” will chronicle the Tigers’ preseason journey as they get set to open their season on the road on November 9. Fans will be given an all-access look into the inner workings of a basketball program at the mid-major level.
“We are thrilled that our partnership with Comcast SportsNet is continuing, as I think fans really enjoyed seeing how our team prepared behind closed doors last year,” said second-year head coach Pat Skerry. “The show allows us to showcase our program to a wide audience and allows Tiger fans to see just how hard our kids work. We have a high level of commitment at Towson from our administration, and we’re excited that we’ll once again be able to introduce our fans to the many new faces that will make up the 2012-13 team.”
If fans are unable to watch the show live, the network will once again keep the episodes on its on-demand channel throughout the 2012-13 college basketball season. Fans will also be able to watch the shows on-demand via the web at www.TowsonTigers.com.
“Earning Their Stripes” is once again being produced by two-time Emmy Award-winning 3 Penny Films, which has done similar projects for Towson University Football, University of Miami Football, Auburn University Football, University of Maryland Football and Marquette University Basketball.
The film crew, led by former Washington Redskins place-kicker Jess Atkinson, will follow the team before, during and after each practice. The crew will also sit in on team meetings, as well as many off-the-court activities.
Filming for the show has begun and will continue throughout Towson's 2012-13 Training Camp and pre-season.
