WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Towson didn’t score a field goal during the final 3:42 and William & Mary used an 11-2 run to end the game and top the Tigers, 63-56, Saturday night at the Kaplan Center.

The loss snaps Towson’s four-game road winning streak and drops the Tigers to 10-12 overall and 5-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association. William & Mary improves to 8-11 overall and 2-6 in league play.

In a back-and-forth game that feature nine ties and 21 lead changes, a Marcus Damas lay-in with 3:42 remaining put Towson up 54-52. The Tribe would score the games next 11 points though to seal the win.

Three Tigers finished in double figures, led by 13 from Damas. Junior forward Jerrelle Benimon posted 12 points and six rebounds, while freshman Jerome Hairston scored all 11 of his points in the first half.

Sophomore Marcus Thornton tallied a game-high 16 points for the Tribe. Junior Tim Rusthoven recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Tigers, playing their fourth game in eight days, were outrebounded by their largest margin of the season, 43-31.

Towson returns to action on Wednesday at Old Dominion. Tip time from the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va. is slated for 7 p.m.
