BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Tigers were in fast company Friday afternoon when they placed 33rd in a field of 40 teams at the 36th Annual Brooks Paul Short Run on the Goodman Campus of Lehigh University.
"The race was so big and there were so many runners we couldn't stay together," said Tiger coach Roger Erricker. "We ran a so-so race. Our times were good."
Junior Brandi Gervais finished first for the Tigers, clocking a 22:10 on the 6K course to place 123rd in the field of 363 runners. She was two seconds off her best 6K time.
Junior Lindsay Warfield continues to be impressive for Towson. She shattered her 6K PR by1:37, placing 154th with a time of 22:26. Sophomores Liya Kasimova (170th in 22:36) and Kaylin Gilmartin-Donohue (198th in 22:50) followed.
West Virginia captured the team title, edging the University of Guelph from Ontario, Canada. Shippensburg sophomore Neely Spence took top individual honors, finishing first in 19:58.
