TOWSON, Md. - Senior Jackie Schweitzer finished first on the uneven bars and the balance beam as undefeated Towson University upped its record to 6-0 on the season with a convincing dual meet victory over William & Mary (1-5) in the Towson Center on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers earned a season's best 192.600 score to beat the Tribe. William & Mary also posted a seasonal high as the Tribe earned a 187.450 team score.

Schweitzer, who competed on only two events, won the bars competition for the fourth consecutive meet as a she recorded a seasonal high 9.75 score. She also posted a seasonal best 9.80 on the beam as she won the beam competition for the first time this season.

"Jackie had an incredible meet," said Towson Coach Dick Filbert. "She really gave us a lift with her performances. This was a good meet for us. After three in a row on the road, it was really nice to compete at home. Considering the bad weather, we really had a great crowd."

A crowd of 511 turned out despite the snowy weather which caused the meet to start one-half hour late. One of the meet judges had travel difficulties and caused the delay.

Led by senior Alise McDonald and sophomore Avis Hixon, the Tigers started the meet with an impressive performance on vault. Towson earned a 48.475 team score on vault as McDonald finished first with a 9.85 score and Hixon took second place (9.825). Sophomore Kacy Catanzaro finished third on vault (9.725).

Led by Schweitzer, the Tigers posted a 47.325 team score on bars. While Schweitzer finished first, Jennifer Stack (9.60) and Melissa Cream of William & Mary (9.55) finished third. Junior Megan Wooden and Catanzaro tied for fourth place on bars with 9.525 scores.

Schweitzer led Towson to a 48.35 team score on balance beam by winning the 15th beam title of her career with a 9.80 score. Catanzaro also turned in a solid effort on beam with a second place showing and a 9.775 score. Sophomore Alyssa Dittman of Towson finished third (9.70).

The Tigers clinched the meet on the final rotation with a 48.45 score on floor exercise. McDonald and Dina McNaughton of William & Mary tied for first place on floor with 9.825 scores. Hixon finished third with a 9.75 score while Wooden placed fourth (9.725).
