NEWARK, Del. - The Tigers rallied to force a fourth set but it would not be enough as they fell at Delaware 3-1 on Friday night in Colonial Athletic Association action. Amanda Halls posted a career-high in kills and digs to lead the Tigers (8-19, 1-11 CAA).

"I was proud of our kids for the way they fought tonight," said Coach Paul Koncir. "Through all the injuries that have hit this year, they really just put it together tonight, it may not have been the result on the scoreboard but I thought we made positive steps."

In the first set the Blue Hens (17-7, 10-2 CAA) hit .229 to the Tigers' .054 and claimed a 25-15 win. The Blue Hens had jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the set and extended it to 20-8 before the Tigers made a late run to pull it to 21-12. The Blue Hens scored three of the last four points in the set to claim the victory. The second set saw the two squads battle through five tie scores and three lead changes before Delaware claimed a 25-23 victory. Delaware jumped out to a 10-5 lead before the Tigers pulled to within 16-13. Towson would take a 22-21 lead in the set before Delaware scored four of the last five to take the set.

The third set saw the Tigers go down early as they trailed 17-9. The Tigers railed and used five straight points to pull to 22-17 in the set. The Tigers continued to fight pulling even with the Blue Hens at 22-22. Behind a strong game at the net by Shelynne Hoyt, the Tigers rallied for a 25-23 win in the third set. The four set saw the two teams battle early. Delaware opened a 9-5 lead before the Tigers pulled to within 13-10 on a block by Katee Luecke. The Blue Hens would then extend their lead to 15-11. The Tigers trailed 20-13 before a rally would make it a 23-19 set in favor of the hosts. Following a Delaware timeout the Blue Hens would score the final two points to take the fourth set 25-20 and win the match.

Halls had a career-high 14 kills and 18 digs for her third "double-double" of the year. Luecke also posted a "double-double" with 37 assists and 16 digs. Luecke would also add three blocks. Hoyt finished with a career-high 15 kills and three blocks while Missy Rohrbaugh posted 29 digs.
