TOWSON, Md.- The Tigers welcomed the St. Joseph’s Hawks to the Towson Center Tennis Courts Tuesday, but the Hawks came away with a 4-3 victory.
FreshmanAyana Dow starred for the Tigers, as she recorded two of the three Towson wins.
Dow defeated St. Joseph’s Nicole Esposito 6-2 and 6-1 in singles play. Dow then paired with Ariel Burke to defeat Lauren Roy and Aurora Davis 8-3 in a doubles match. Towson also received a doubles victory from the combination of Cailey Easdale and Nisha Shah.
Shah was also victorious in singles play, defeating Devi Jadeja 6-2 and 6-4.
“I liked our fight and some of the girls stepped it up,” Towson CoachDoug Neagle said. “But, we’ve got some work to do. We’re going to practice hard and work on some things we need to work on.”
Towson returns to the courts Thursday Oct. 6 when they matchup against in-state rival Mount St. Mary’s. The matches will be held at the Towson Center Tennis Courts and begin at 3:00 p.m.
