TOWSON, Md. - This season, the Towson women's soccer team is joining fellow Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) member Elon in supporting "Kickin' it with Colie!"
"College soccer programs are a close-knit family across the NCAA," said Head Coach
Greg Paynter. "We have joined "Kickin' it with Colie!" because one of our own is going through a rough time, and being able to help her will not only impact Colie, her family and her friends, but us as well. We hope others will reach out and support our efforts to raise money for Colie."
Nicole "Colie" Dennion, a member of the Elon's women's soccer program, is battling a bone cancer that inspired teammates and friends to organize a fundraising campaign to help her with medical expenses and recovery. She was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a childhood cancer that affects bone or the soft tissue surrounding bone. The disease is the second-most common bone cancer in young people and, with early diagnosis, is often treated successfully.
For the rest of the season, Tiger fans are asked to stop by the promotions table at the entrance of the Tiger Soccer Complex during home games to make a donation or get information on how to donate online to help make a difference for Colie.
