Moments That Mattered During the Winning Streak

TOWSON, Md. – Here's a quick glance at all of the key moments and highlights of each game during Towson's 10-game winning streak. As you will notice, just about each player for the Tigers have contributed something special during this early season run of success.
 
The Tigers have their highest RPI in program history (No. 28) and are ranked in the top 100 of the kenpom.com ratings. Towson returns to action at Oakland on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. That game will be televised on ESPN3.
 
At 10-1, Towson is off to its best start in its Division I history. The Tigers' hot start has been noticed nationally as they received three votes in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll.

Towson is also ranked eighth in the Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll and 21st in the @midmajormadness Top 25 Power Rankings. The Mid-Major poll does not include schools in the Atlantic 10 and Mountain West whereas @midmajormadness does.
 
Win #1: Frostburg State
Deshaun Morman, Jordan McNeil, and Justin Gorham enjoyed career best scoring performances. Martin's dunk gave Towson the lead for good, 12-10, six minutes, 17 seconds into the game. His dunk triggered a 12-2 Towson run that gave the Tigers control. (LINK TO STORY)
 
Win #2 Loyola
Brian Starr's brilliant all-around effort and Martin's dominating second half scoring show helped Towson end a three-game road losing. The balanced Tigers had five players finish with double digit point totals led by Starr's 21 points and six assists. (LINK TO STORY)
 
Win #3 Florida Atlantic
Martin scored 23 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the field and 4-of-7 from 3-point distance. Eddie Keith II scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half as the Tigers outscored the Owls, 40-27. Leading 51-40 with 9:15 remaining, Martin started a 25-8 Towson burst with a 3-pointer from the corner. (LINK TO STORY)
 
Win #4 Penn
Mike Morsell led four Tigers in double figures with 18 points as Towson dismissed the inconvenience of an early 10-point deficit. Martin scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half. It was also a special night for head coach Pat Skerry, who won his 100th career game at Towson. After Penn closed to 56-54 with 9:31 remaining, the Tigers used a quick 12-3 run to open their largest lead of the contest, 68-57. (LINK TO STORY)
 
Win #5 Georgia Southern
There were three ties and four lead changes in the final 2 minutes, 41 seconds. Towson made six free throws in the final 90 seconds to subdue the Eagles. Keith II gave Towson the lead for good, 63-62, with 1:25 remaining. Starr scored 13 points in the second half to earn a spot on the all-tournament team. Morsell was named tournament MVP after scoring 16 points. (LINK TO STORY)
 
Win #6 St. Mary's
After St. Mary's scored the first basket of the contest, Towson took immediate control by scoring 12 straight points. The Tigers had a season best 22 assists on their 36 baskets. Martin scored a career best 24 points. Justin Gorham added 13 points and five rebounds. Towson scored a season high 49 first half points. (LINK TO STORY)
 
Win #7 La Salle
Towson outscored La Salle, 19-8, over the final 7 minutes, 54 seconds. Martin scored eight of his team-high 20 points in the final five minutes. Morsell finished with 17 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Keith II, who led the Tigers with six rebounds, gave Towson the lead for good, 60-58, with a nifty reverse layup with 2 minutes, 35 seconds remaining. (LINK TO STORY)
 
Win #8 Manhattan
Morsell took a pass from Starr and sank a 12-foot baseline jumper with 1.5 seconds remaining that proved to be the decisive basket. The Tigers led for 48 seconds and rallied from a 13-point first half deficit to win the Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic. Martin earned tournament MVP honors after his second consecutive 20-point performance and Keith II was named to the all-tournament team. Towson enjoyed a 42-23 rebounding advantage. (LINK TO STORY)
 
Win #9 Morgan State
Martin packaged eight of his career best 25 points in overtime to lead the Towson. Martin made a game-tying 3-pointer with 8.1 seconds remaining. Dennis Tunstall forced overtime when he blocked a pair of shots in the final 1.5 seconds. The Tigers never trailed in the extra session. (LINK TO STORY)
 
Win #10 UMBC
Keith II's first career double-double of 12 points and 15 rebounds highlighted the Tigers' triumph. Towson sprinted to the finish by outscoring UMBC, 27-11, over the final 12:38. Martin led Towson in scoring with 15 points. Morman added 11 points and six rebounds. (LINK TO STORY)
