Tigers Remain Among the Top 20 in the Nation

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team remained ranked among the top 20 in the nation as the national polls released on Monday.
 
After a tough loss at Hofstra, the Tigers slipped to number 17 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Poll. The Tigers received 87 points this week. Towson has already faced four teams ranked in the top 10 of the Coaches' Poll in then No. 6 Stony Brook, No. 7 Penn State, No. 3 Florida and No. 10 Notre Dame. The Tigers have also faced James Madison, which is No. 16 this week, as well as then No. 19 Elon.
 
Towson is at No. 20 in the Cascade/Inside Lacrosse Division I Media Poll. Towson has already faced four teams ranked in the top 10 of the media poll (then No. 5 Stony Brook, No. 7 Penn State, No. 3 Florida and No. 10 Notre Dame) and James Madison, which is at No. 14 this week. Towson has defeated Elon and Loyola already but still has to face Johns Hopkins (Apr. 30). All three of those teams are receiving votes in this week's poll.
 
The Tigers are No. 18 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Magazine this week. The Tigers have faced four teams in the top 10 in Stony Brook, Penn State, Florida and Notre Dame already. Towson also battled James Madison, who is at No. 16 this week. The Tigers defeated Elon and still have to face Johns Hopkins, both are receiving votes in this week's poll.
 
The Tigers are back in action on Friday, April 21 when they travel to Delaware for a 5 p.m. game.
