Ireland Journal

June 6, 2007: All of the girls knew today was going to be an exciting day. The day was filled with the opportunity to go sightseeing and shopping all through Dublin. When we first arrived in the city we purchased tickets to ride on the 24 hour city tour bus. Throughout the day we could use this bus to hop off and on at some of Dublin’s top attractions.
We began the tour in the center of Dublin. Along the way to the Guinness factory we saw the post office, a famous Cathedral, and the millennium pole. The next part of the tour included a visit to the famous beer making factory. The team divided into groups and explored the factory floor by floor. Along the way we learned about the ingredients and how Guinness beer is brewed. In the end we rode a glass elevator to the sky bar to receive a complimentary Guinness beer.
Once we left the factory the girls were allowed to shop and explore Dublin in groups. The team had about 5 hours to shop before we would meet up for our going away dinner. Shopping was an adventure! There were so many stores to choose from. To some of us five hours was still not long enough. We ended our trip by meeting together for a going away dinner. The food was delicious as always and all of the girls showed off their purchases. This was a great way to end an awesome trip in Ireland!
