When you make a gift to the Tiger Athletic Fund, you have tremendous flexibility in determining how the funds will be used, as well as many options for making your gift.

Unrestricted gifts are among the most valuable to Tiger Athletic Fund, because they allow the fund and Athletic Director the ability to direct resources to the areas of greatest need. Your unrestricted contribution may be used to support costs associated with scholarships, technology upgrades, program enhancements and much more.

Blazer Club

Towson University and Tiger Athletics have a long tradition of success in their pursuit of excellence. The TU Athletics program is known for its highly skilled coaches, top-level Division I competition and rigorous schedules. Towson's teams and student-athletes have consistently achieved regional and national recognition.

Towson University offers a unique opportunity for dedicated Tiger fans to demonstrate their commitment to the university's student-athletes and Towson Athletics by becoming a member of the Blazer Club. Membership in the Blazer Club is possible through a contribution of $5,000 to the Tiger Athletic Fund payable over five years. As a Blazer Club member, you will receive a tailored blazer that features the Towson Tiger emblem, and you will enjoy the privileges of a Tiger Athletic Fund membership, including exclusive invitations to athletic events.

All funds received by the Tiger Athletic Fund are placed under the management of the Towson University Foundation, Inc. The Foundation's mission is to ensure that gifts and contributions will be utilized to benefit TU Athletics as requested by the donor.

• Annual Giving enables our sports programs to defray their costs of recruiting, travel, equipment and other operational costs above those funded through the department budget process.  Gifts can be made using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover), cash, personal checks or money orders made payable to the Towson University Foundation, Inc.

• Major Gifts are above and beyond donations given during capital project campaigns.  An example of a major gift would be a $1 Million donation toward the General TAF account.

• Endowments enable TU to fund an annual scholarship to a TU student-athlete or to provide a guaranteed funding source for a sports program. Endowment donors will enjoy the chance to create a lasting legacy that supports future generations of Tiger athletes.

• Gifts of long-held appreciated securities are a popular alternative to cash gifts. In addition to receiving a charitable income tax deduction for the full market value of your gift, you may also bypass capital gains tax on the appreciation.

• Gifts – in – Kind includes services or products instead of, or in addition to, a cash gift.  In some cases these gifts may enable you to make a significant gift to support Towson with tax benefits to you.

• Matching Gift Programs are an easy way to double or even triple your contribution to Towson University. Such programs typically match all or a percentage of employee contributions to charitable organizations.  Please check with your human resources office for the proper form and enclose it when you send in your gift. 

• Gift Pledges. TU welcomes your gift through a pledge—a formal statement of intention to make a gift to the university. With a pledge, you may complete your gift by making regular payments over time, allowing you to give more generously than you originally may have considered.
