TOWSON, Md – The Towson University softball team played a double-header vs the Hampton Pirates on Saturday. The Tigers lost the first game 12-7 before bouncing back to win the second game 6-4 to win the series.

Towson – 18-19, 7-8 CAA
Hampton – 12-22, 4-11 CAA
Game 1:
Key Stats:
- The Pirates Jada Evans earned the win after pitching 7.0 innings and allowing twelve hits and seven runs with two walks and five strikeouts.
- Olivia Trombley receives the loss after allowing eleven hits and seven runs with two walks and a strikeout over 2.2 innings.
How it happened:
- A walk between two singles loaded the bases for Hampton in the 2nd inning, then Aitirhna Aiken and Kylee Quinn hit back-to-back RBI singles to put the Pirates up 2-0.
- Grace Franczyk drew a leadoff walk and Madyson Peters doubled to put runners on second and third in the bottom of the 2nd. Addie Ferguson hit an RBI single to cut the deficit in half making it 2-1.
- Hampton put runners on the corners with two outs in the top of the 3rd. A single, a walk and another single made it 5-1, before a two-run triple pushed the Pirates lead to 7-1. Another pair of singles added two more runs to cap off a seven-run inning and make it 9-1 Hampton.
- Briyana Wright hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the third and Cara Bohner tripled to get a run back. Grace Franczyk hit an RBI groundout later in the inning to make it 9-3.
- Addie Ferguson hit a leadoff double in the bottom of the 4th, and Alyssa Myint singled to put runners on the corners. Elizabeth Yoskowitz hit an RBI fielder's choice before a single and a hit-by-pitch loaded the bases for Grace Franczyk who hit a bases clearing double to make it 9-7.
- A one-out double put a runner on second with one out for Hampton. Kylie Hill hit an RBI single before Leah Maduro hit a two-run homerun to make it 12-7 Pirates.
- Paige Kostick singled to put two-on with no outs in the bottom of the 7th. Kristin Toland pinch hit and hit a single to load the bases with two outs. But Jada Evans got the final out with a lineout to finish her complete game and seal a 12-7 Hampton win.
Game 2:
Key Stats:
- Isabella Canesi hit her 5th homerun of the year.
- Cadence Williams earns the win after pitching 3.2 innings and allowing five hits and three runs with six walks and four strikeouts.
- Amanda Medina earned her second save of the season allowing only one hit and one run with three strikeouts over 3.1 innings out of the bullpen.
How it happened:
- Cara Bohner hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the 1st and a Hampton error put runners on first and second for Isabella Canesi who hit a three-run homerun to give Towson an early 3-0 lead.
- In the bottom of the 2nd Alyssa Myint hit a one-out single and Briyana Wright hit an RBI double before Cara Bohner followed up with an RBI single to make it 5-0 Towson.
- The leadoff batter for Hampton in the 3rd walked and scored on an RBI double with one out. Two batters later a single brought home another Pirate run to make it 5-2.
- Another walk led off the top of the 4th and a sacrifice bunt put a runner in scoring position. Carmynn Bonner hit an RBI single to cut Towson's lead to 5-3.
- After Amanda Medina sent the Pirates down in order in the top of the 5th, Grace Franczyk led off the home half of the inning with a single. The next batter Madyson Peters hit an RBI double to restore Towson's three-run lead.
- Only seven total batters came to the plate in the 6th inning.
- Bonner hit a leadoff homerun in the top of the 7th but Medina retired the next three batters to earn the save and a 6-4 win.

The Tigers play the final of a six game homestand on Wednesday against George Washington. The game is currently scheduled for a 3 p.m. start time.
