TOWSON ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT FINISHES SEVENTH NATIONALLY IN 2023-24 HELPER HELPER COMMUNITY SERVICE STANDINGS
TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University athletics department considers community service to be one of its highest priorities. During the 2023-24 academic year, the 19 teams logged 8,500 community service hours to finish in seventh place in the final standings of the NCAA HelperHelper Teamworks Challenge.
Towson was the only Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) program to finish in the top-25 among Division I programs. Eight teams finished in the Top 10 in their sports.
Gymnastics: 2nd
Baseball: 2nd
Field Hockey: 3rd
Men's Golf: 3rd
Women's Soccer: 5th
Men's Swim & Dive: 7th
Men's Lacrosse: 8th
Cross Country/Track & Field: 9th
"It was amazing to witness our student-athletes take pride in serving the community this past academic year," said Dahne Brown-Boyer, Towson director of student-athlete experience. "Eight of our teams finished in the top 10 in their sport, which confirms our student-athletes will continue to stamp volunteerism as a core aspect of our culture here at Towson."
Towson has a strong community service presence in the Greater Baltimore area, finishing first in community service during the fall 2018 semester and three top-10 finishes.
